The Grand Montgomery Chamber Music Series

The Grand Montgomery Chamber Music Series Poudly presents the 18th year of fine music, free to one an all. All concerts is held at Wesley Hall, 142 Clinton Street in the Village of Montgomery at 3 p.m.

NOVEMBER 13, 2005 - THE MISTRAL TRIO will present music by Beethoven, Bach, Francaix, and none other than Peter Schickele, plus more. The New Paltz based trio consists of Ann Churukian, oboe, Joanna Schroer, clarinet, and Elisabeth Romano, bassoon. The combination of instruments is intriguing as the concert will be. They are just another example of the tremendous amount of musical talent there is in the Hudson Valley.

JANUARY 8, 2006 - AVRON COLEMAN, CELLO AND GILDO DINUNZIO, PIANO. GMCMS has thee pleasure of presenting Coleman and Dinunzio play the music of Beethoven, Mozart, Saint-Saens and others. Avron has performed with the Minneapolis Symphony and the New York Philharmonic for years. In addition he has been a member of many chamber groups and has given numerous solo recitals. Gildo was the assistant conductor at the Metropolitan Opera House for 40 years. Also, he has been vocal coach to Pavarotti and others.

MARCH 5, 2006 - GREGG MICHALAK- PIANO. Gregg returns this year to the concert series to present a long-awaited solo program. He is taking to the stage following his newly-released CD of Beethoven concertos. Mr. Michalak will play music by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin plus others. This is sure to be a memorable performance. Spend an enjoyable afternoon with us and hear this fine pianist playing superb music.

MAY 28, 2006 - ROBERT GUPTA, VIOLIN AND PATRICK GUPTA, PIANO. The amazing Gupta brothers will be back again. Robert is now 18 and is attending Yale working on his Masters degree while his 15-year-old brother is a Junior at Maris. Both are studying Science as well as Music.

 

The series is backed by TOMCA (Town of Montgomery Cultural Alliance) and largely funded by The Village of Montgomery with additional financial support from The Town of Montgomery, The Historic Montgomery Association, Frontier Communications, Holberts Caterers/ Yankee Kitchen, The Daily Bean, Walden Savings Bank, Walden Federal, Clinton Antique Shops, Peppy’s Foods, James Douglas Gallery, Montgomery Veterinary Practice, Montgomery Mills/UPS Shipper, Town of Montgomery Chamber of Commerce, Walden Diner and TOMCA.

GMCMS is proud to have been the subject of the"Great Moments in Music" series presented by the classical music radio station, WMHT- FM (88.7), Schenectady. This was a 45- second spot announcement repeated about 40 times over a 3-GMCMSek period this past July, which told the radio audience about the background and purpose of the music series.

The Grand Montgomery Chamber Music Series volunteer director is Howard Garrett with help from Judy Garrett, Bob Campbell, Gerald and Betty Apicello, Fred Ponger, the Village of Montgomery office staff, Audrey DeAngelo (GMCMSsley Hall director).
